The Eye [Gin gwai] Director: Oxide Pang Chun & Danny Pang Year: 2002 Run Time: 99 mins Classification: 15 A girl gets a cornea transplant so as not to lose her sight, yet she gets more than she bargained for. Shortly after she starts getting disturbing visions, she discovers her donor was not an average stable person. STORY: The story is quite good and it is quite freaky in parts. There are some good moments of suspense and anticipation and some reasonably enjoyable action scenes. CINEMATOGRAPHY: Cinematography is average, and so is the acting. Some of the locations and backgrounds are really good and the special effects and motion of the picture is above average. SOUND: The soundtrack works well with the movie. It remains subtle throughout the most part but beautifully highlights the intense moments where it is needed. OVERALL: Another good movie well worth a watch, though not one of the most intensely gripping. Rating: 3 / 5 SCREENSHOTS:
